20. KIPLING METHOD (Questioning, Discussion, Feedback)

Description:  The Kipling Method is based on a poem that helps students remember the basics of information-gathering.

Application: Use this poem in journalism or any other subject where fact-finding is critical.

Process: Introduce/post Rudyard Kipling’s poem:
I keep six honest serving men
(They taught me all I knew);
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.

Guide students to use the Kipling poem as a reminder to be thorough and complete when reporting or conveying information through written, verbal, or other means of communication.
