21. OUT-OF-ORDER READING STRATEGY (Reading, Feedback)

Description: Presented by Skylar Anderson of StudyRight, the Out-Of-Order Reading Strategy offers students an alternative way to gather information from a textbook.

Application: Review this strategy early in the school year as an additional way for students to use a textbook.

Process: Ask students to explain how they use a textbook to learn. Discuss.  Propose another method to students by handing out Addendum EEE and, with textbook at the ready, reviewing the Out-Of-Order Reading Strategy. Be prepared to model the strategy and allow students time to practice before they use it during homework.
