27. DOGAN DIAGRAM (Questioning, Discussion, Feedback, Writing)

Description: The Dogan Diagram Protocol is a systematic problem-solution technique.

Application: This protocol can specifically address possible solutions generated by the Pareto Analysis #26.

Process: Ask students to identify the number one cause of a problem based on the results of a Pareto Analysis. Hand each student a Dogan Diagram and encourage them to brainstorm possible solutions to the problem. Remind students to make sure they include the ways to facilitate the solution in the two bubbles attached.  After a predetermined time, ask students to find a partner, compare solutions, and add or edit information depending on the conversation. Emphasize to students that they write on their own paper.
