33. USING TECH: THE PRINTING PRESS (Writing, Discussion)

Description: The interactive Printing Press is designed to assist students in creating newspapers, brochures, and flyers.

Application: Use the Printing Press as an alternative to a hand-written report.

Process: Research the possibilities of the Printing Press before assigning students to use it.  Introduce a topic of study to students and direct them to go to http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/Printing_Press/ to access the program.  Set the parameters of the assignment (newspaper, brochure, flyer or student’s choice) and encourage creativity.  Remind students that there is an instructions button if they have any questions about the program.
