44. TABLE TALK (Discussion)
 
Description: Table Talk protocol is based on a popular group game, Table TopicsTM    and is meant to elicit dialogue with a group of people who are not familiar with each other.
 
Application: Use as an icebreaker but also as a review mechanism in certain subjects.
 
Process: Purchase a box that has two compartments and select at least twenty questions that will prompt students to share (Addendum below).  Place questions on one side of the box, reserving other side for “used questions.” Group students (ten or less) and form a circle. Select one student to begin, and ask him to pick a card from the Table Talk box. Explain that the student should give his name (if necessary), say the question and then answer it. Allow a few minutes of conversation about the student’s response, and direct him to pass the box to the next person.
