76. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS! (Writing, Discussion)

Description: This protocol provides a focus statement/question every class meeting to give students a basic scaffold of the day’s lesson. 
 
Application: Use the focus statement as a class starter.
 
Process: Create a question or statement that has direct relevance to the day’s lesson.  Display question/statement and allow enough time for students to respond.  Discuss responses.
