23. KICKOFF QUIZZES (Questioning, Feedback)
Description: Game-like in nature, Kickoff Quizzes combines elements of competition, engagement, novelty, and fun.
Application: Use this protocol once a week for extra credit.
Process: Each week, develop a brief quiz for students to take at the start of class. Limit it to one to three items and vary the type of question asked. Make sure the questions are directly related to the most recent course content and let students know the quiz will be counted as extra credit. On quiz day, give students no more than five minutes to take the quiz. Administer quizzes regularly as a motivation to study.
