28. CONCEPT STATION REVIEW (Collaboration, Discussion, Feedback)
Description: In this variation of Collaboration Stations, students work on creative activities based on a topic of study.
Application: Use Concept Station Review as a way to strengthen creative skills in students.
Process: Have a topic and related concepts/vocabulary in mind for review. Create the tasks for each station, using different concepts/vocabulary at each. (Suggested tasks include: acrostics, poems, raps, illustrations, characterizations, comic strips, newspaper articles, and journal entries.) Form groups and require each person within the group to have a leadership role at one of the stations. Have specific instructions for each skill at the different stations and remind students the instructions stay at the station when they move on. In a predetermined amount of time, tell groups to rotate to another station and work on the task. After all groups have moved through all stations, post work and allow students to examine the products of others. Direct them to write a short reflection piece on the overall activity.
