34. SCRIPT-OUT KEY QUESTIONS (Questioning)
Description: Research suggests that questioning without planning produces lower level questions. This guiding principle encourages teachers to “script-out” questions before lessons to ensure that critical thinking and participation occur.
Application: Write key questions for lessons prior to class meeting in all subjects.
Process: Consider the topic and the vehicle of learning such as a demonstration, lecture, seminar, discussion, reading, etc. Determine the key points and create the questions, making sure to vary levels of questions as well as to include both open and closed question.
